Familiar file sync and sharing with long version history on team plans
Prices verified October 30, 2026 on the vendor's site
Overview
Dropbox is the cloud storage service many small businesses already use informally, and its paid plans turn it into a light document-management system. Plus is a single-user plan with 2 TB. Standard and Advanced are per-user team plans that add an admin console, team folders, groups and roles, and longer recovery windows — 180 days and a full year respectively — which is the practical version history most offices need. Every paid plan includes basic PDF editing and e-signatures, and team plans come with an allowance of AI credits for organizing and finding files. The free Basic plan is only 2 GB, so it is a way to receive shared files rather than run a business on.
Who it's for
Small offices that want shared folders, client file transfers and dependable version history without deploying an enterprise DMS, and freelancers who need lots of storage and occasional signatures in one subscription.
